I was just bopping along, minding my own business, and checking my Etsy messages one day back when I still focused a lot of business time on Etsy. I had grown my business to a reasonable size and did field some random requests but most of the messages that came in were legit. So, when I saw a message from someone claiming to be a costume designer for a major Halloween horror movie production I froze. Whoa.
She was reaching out because one of my pins had caught her eye and she felt that one of the characters in her movie would have ABSOLUTELY loved it as well and worn it on her outfit or bag. UHM…obviously. Well, I messaged her back so fast I probably didn’t even add a salutation! But she responded, we messaged back and forth, signed some paperwork and I mailed off a cute box (with some extra accouterments in the package) to a movie set where my pin would make its motion picture debut!
The movie hit theaters a couple of years later but I had to wait until it hit DVD because I could not sit through a horror movie in theaters. I am le bebe afterall. It was so cool for something that I had thought up, drawn, and created to be featured in A MOVIE! Sometimes I still gotta pinch myself about this one because it really, really doesn’t feel real.
